Divitt Trumpets trumpets are built to be played, not babied — but a little regular care goes a long way. Proper maintenance keeps your instrument playing freely, responding consistently, and sounding its best for years to come.

• Wipe down the instrument after playing to remove moisture and oils

• Empty all water keys before storing the trumpet

• Store your trumpet in the dust bag provided before placing it in the case

• Avoid leaving your instrument assembled and wet in the case

Valve Care

Valves are the heart of the instrument and should be oiled regularly.

• Use a high-quality valve oil

• Oil the valves every few days, or daily if you play frequently

• Keep valves clean and free of debris

If valves begin to feel sluggish, it’s usually a sign they need cleaning rather than more oil.

Slide Care

• Keep tuning slides lightly greased so they move smoothly

• Wipe slides clean before applying fresh grease

• Avoid forcing slides that feel stuck
