Andrew Stephens

Andrew Stephens is a musician, bandleader, and educator from Sacramento, California, based in New York City since 2021. He is the head instructor for the Louis Armstrong House Museum’s trumpet program, leads an ongoing project celebrating the centennial of Louis Armstrong’s Hot 5 and 7 recordings, and has performed with Vince Giordano and the Nighthawks, Taylor Eigsti, Dayna Stephens, Roy McCurdy, Gabrielle Cavassa, Bria Skonberg, Neal Caine, Kenny Wollesen, Thomas Morgan, Evan Christopher, Ben Goldberg, Russell Hall, and many others. He completed a Masters of Music at the Juilliard School in 2023 and a BA in Pure Mathematics at UC Berkeley in 2018. Andrew placed 2nd in the 2025 and 2019 Carmine Caruso Competitions, and is the winner of the 2021 Ryan Anthony Memorial Trumpet Competition.
